Bryan Chalarca Echeverri
Bryan got a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a specialist degree in Structures at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia at Manizales. He got his Master in Science degree in Earthquake Engineering from the Erasmus Mundus MEEES Program. Currently, he is enrolled as a PhD Candidate in Understanding and Managing Extremes - Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology at the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia. He has worked as research assistant in several projects such as “Study and seismic behavior of low–cost material structures such as ferrocement, using experimental, deterministic and stochastic analysis.” and as Young Researcher (Colombian Research Institute grant) in the project “Experimental behavior and stochastic analysis of dry post-tensioned masonry under simulated seismicity”. As a professional engineer, he has worked as a structural designer and assistant engineer in several projects in Colombia. His current studies are focused on the implementation of seismic protection systems and their impact on the nonstructural seismic demand and structural identification.
