Nonlinear Response Analysis a.y. 2020/21

Programma

The objective of the course is to present, discuss, and apply state-of-the-art simulation methods for the nonlinear response of structures to earthquake loads. The course focuses strongly on the understanding of static and dynamic analysis procedures of equivalent frame models. The derivations and assumptions of the underlying structural theories and numerical solution methods are thoroughly presented and illustrated with a set of Jupyter Notebook documents and Python scripts. The course evaluation consists of three group assignments, a project addressing the complete assessment of a reinforced concrete structure – delivered in the form of an oral presentation, and an individual final exam.
