Call for Postdoctoral Fellowship in Civil-Environmental Engineering
RISK-BASED DESIGN OF FLOOD RISK MITIGATION INFRASTRUCTURE
The selected candidate will be part of a research project for the development of a methodology to design infrastructures or interventions for the flood risk mitigation and to identify the relative level of protection, possibly based on a cost/benefit analysis.
The methodology could use a hydrological variable as the trade-off parameter between infrastructure/intervention costs and their benefits in terms of reduction of the expected damage.
The selected candidate will work in the CORDA (COmplex Risk and Data Analysis) research center within the Department of Science, Technology and Society of IUSS and s/he should be available to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Applicants must hold a 5 year degree in Civil-Environmental Engineering or equivalent qualification.
A PhD in Civil-Environmental Engineering (or similar field) is desirable.
The research grant is awarded for two years and its yearly amount is € 21.170,00 gross.
The application must be submitted through the online form available at https://pica.cineca.it/iuss/assegni-sts-2019-01/
