Beatrice studied Physics at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy). After her master’s degree she was research assistant at Università Cattolica and worked at the European FP7 project BioMaxEff. She was in charge of life cycle analysis (LCA) of small scale domestic biomass boilers. She received a grant in the framework of the MIUR project Tree City, where she produced a SVAT (Soil-Vegetation-Atmosphere transfer) model simulating the gaseous exchanges between a forest and the atmosphere, with particular attention to ozone fluxes. She won a grant at Università Cattolica for studying with LCA technique the impacts related to innovative plants for recycling and disposal of exhausted coffee pods.
