Regarding the third-level teaching, the project aims to:
- Boost the PhD in Understanding and Managing Extremes, which has been active for over 15 years. This will be via three scholarships for the next three PhD cycles, in line with the three research areas studied as part of the project. In addition, the project aims to increase its international profile, which will be done via the activation of a Marie Curie PhD scholarship in addition to the creation of a joint PhD programme with one or more North American university, with whom IUSS Pavia already has exchange agreements in place for students.
- Promote the new MSc in Civil Engineering for Mitigation Risk from Natural Hazards that is offered jointly with the University of Pavia. This will be through the activation of scholarships to increase attractiveness and also to attract foreign students.
