Emma Zanoli holds a BA in “Language, Civilisation and the Science of Language” from the University of Ca’ Foscari in Venice. Her BA thesis was titled “How society shapes language: a study of gender mismatches in partitive constructions in Italian” (supervisor: prof. Giuliana Giusti). She later went on to study at the University of Trento, where her focus shifted towards computational linguistics, also thanks to a double degree program with the University of Osnabrück (Germany). In 2022 she obtained the (double) MSc Degree in “Cognitive Science” by defending a thesis titled “Painting a picture with words: an analysis of the use of colors in visually grounded conversations and its implications for NLG” (supervisor: prof.ssa Raffaella Bernardi, Trento; co-supervisor: prof. Elia Bruni, Osnabrück).
