Sara Hamidpourzare graduated with PhD degree in Earthquake Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran, Iran, where she also obtained her MSc degree. As a part of her PhD studies, she complemented a research visit for duration of one year at Politecnico di Milano in 2021. The subject of her PhD thesis was the modeling and evaluation of the rocking response of shallow foundations and in her MSc thesis, she worked on the soil uncertainties effects on the structural responses. The findings from her research works have led to publish several papers in outstanding scientific journals and international conferences. She also has the experience of working in engineering companies on projects related to seismic evaluation and design of building structures as well as evaluation and retrofit of urban bridges in Iran. Sara is currently a research fellow at IUSS Pavia working on risk classification, safety assessment and monitoring of existing bridges in some regions of Italy.
