Carlos obtained his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Universidad de San Martin de Porres, Peru, in 2014. Afterwards, he was awarded a studentship by the National Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation (CONCYTEC) of Peru for further studies at Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru. He obtained his M.Sc. Degree (with distinction) in Civil Engineering in 2017, by presenting a research thesis focused on the evaluation of post-earthquake debris generation in urban areas. Over the past few years, he has been involved in various research activities (at PUCP, CIRNA/World Bank, etc.) and has already published some papers in peer-reviewed international journals and various conference papers. Before enrolling into his Doctoral studies, Carlos has worked as a lecturer and teaching assistant for various modules at PUCP and Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola and has participated in multiple structural design projects.
