Maria Jose has a civil engineering background and professional experience the fields of infrastructure design, transportation, and territorial development. In 2019 she obtained a MSc in Urban Planning and Policy Design from Politecnico di Milano. She is also co-founder at “Urbanalytica. data-driven strategies for sustainable communities”, a citizen initiative with the aim to develop and promote sustainable communities.
For her PhD research she specializes in the exploration, analysis and mapping of radar and optical satellite data. Her main interests include the use of remote sensing techniques in agricultural and urban landscapes. She was involved in the project “NOCTUA, Landscape Monitoring. For Everyone. From Space”, a pilot of a commercial service for the collection, processing, analysis, and distribution of satellite data designed for Lombardy region, to monitor grey and green infrastructure.
