14/03/2022 - Lesson 01: Memory between archive and redemption of the past

The lesson aims to provide the premises on the processes of selection, construction and use of memory as a continuous effort to rework personal and collective identity. In particular, reference will be made to the conception of the memory of Proust and Ricoeur, to that of Foucaultian archives and Benjaminian redemption.

21/03/2022 - Lesson 02: Memory and personal identity

The lesson will revolve around the concept of plastic identity and the role of memory as an instrument of redemption of the individual past, as a basis for the construction of an identity in the present and as a basis of action aimed at the future, bearing in mind the Lacanian concept of the future ahead.

28/03/2022 - Lesson 03: Representing memory

The lesson will show some examples of how animation cinema can build personal and collective memories through referential adherence to the reality of documentary and testimonial mold, or through the camouflage of the plausible narration or thanks to an intermediary perspective.

04/04/2022 - Lesson 04: Memory and forms of nostalgia

The lesson will focus on the concept of nostalgia and its links with memory and temporal configurations
non-linear. We will analyze the nostalgia of the past in its restorative and reflective forms, that of the present
(especially in the Japanese tradition) and that of the future, with 

hints at retro-futurism and steampunk.

08/04/2022 - Lesson 05: Memory and mourning

The lesson will focus on the link that individual and collective memory has with and processing practices
and the overcoming of mourning understood as the crisis of the system of identification and recognition of
basis of the imaginary and symbolic identity of the individual.

11/04/2022 - Lesson 06: In the absence of memory

The lesson will be dedicated to some reflections on the loss, voluntary or not, whether understood as
loss of personal memories and therefore of personal identity, both as lack of cultural memory and
