The Eucentre Foundation, in collaboration with IUSS and the University of Pavia, will take a leading role at the 18th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering (WCEE2024), a globally significant event scheduled to be held from June 30 to July 5 at Allianz MiCo in Milan. To mark this prestigious occasion, Eucentre has joined forces with the aforementioned institutions to establish the Pavia Earthquake Engineering Research Hub, a center of excellence that will coordinate the event and bring together experts and professionals in the field.
Innovation and Interactivity: The SEISMULATOR
One of the standout features presented by Eucentre at WCEE2024 will be the SEISMULATOR, a portable shaking table designed for on-site dynamic testing. The SEISMULATOR, along with the mobile laboratory (Mobile Lab), will offer participants a unique experience: the simulation of three earthquake tremors experienced in different contexts, such as a ground floor, a fifth floor, and a seismically isolated building. This innovative technology will allow the testing of a Hilti device and provide visitors with a firsthand understanding of the intensity and dynamics of a real seismic event.
Stand F5-E6: A Hub of Innovation and Research
Eucentre and the Pavia Earthquake Engineering Research Hub will be located at Stand F5-E6 in Allianz MiCo. Here, visitors will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the latest research and innovations in earthquake engineering. Eucentre experts will be available to present their activities and answer participants' questions.
An International Event for Seismic Safety
WCEE2024 represents an ideal platform for Eucentre and its partners to share the most advanced knowledge and technologies in earthquake engineering. The event will attract academics, researchers, engineers, and industry professionals from around the world, offering a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration.
Eucentre's participation in WCEE2024 not only underscores the importance of research and innovation in seismic safety but also highlights the central role that Italy and its centers of excellence, such as the Pavia Earthquake Engineering Research Hub, play globally in mitigating seismic risk.
