Two Free Residential Opportunities for fourth year of High School

The Orientation School “Educating Future Citizens” (EFC) is a unique experience dedicated to students in their fourth year of high school, designed to support them during a crucial moment: choosing their university path.

The 2025 edition consists of two free residential sessions:

  • From June 23 to 27 in Pavia, at the IUSS School for Advanced Studies (SOE-PV);
  • From June 25 to 27 in Turin, at the Ferdinando Rossi School of Advanced Studies of the University of Turin (SOE-TO).

Both editions are open exclusively to students in their penultimate year of high school and include free meals, accommodation, and all scheduled activities.

The educational program combines lectures, round tables, and workshops led by professors and researchers from the eight Schools for Advanced Studies that form the EFC network. The approach, both interdisciplinary and immersive, is designed not only to offer an overview of the major issues of today and tomorrow but also to encourage critical thinking and personal reflection.

Throughout the entire program, each participant will be supported by tutors and current students from the Schools, providing guidance and a real taste of university life from the inside.

Available spots: 40 for Pavia and 20 for Turin.

Participation is free of charge.

Academic Activities and Campus Life

In addition to the academic program, the Orientation School offers a complete residential experience, designed to immerse participants in the atmosphere of university life within prestigious settings.

In Pavia, students will stay in the following merit-based colleges: Collegio Nuovo, Collegio Ghislieri, Almo Collegio Borromeo, and Collegio Universitario S. Caterina da Siena.

In Turin, participants will stay at the Youth Mobility and Intercultural Center "Open 011."

One of the most anticipated moments will take place on June 26, when all participants – from both Pavia and Turin – will be taken on an exclusive guided visit to the Egyptian Museum, personally led by Director Christian Greco: a unique opportunity to dive into the history and charm of one of Europe’s most important museums.

The Orientation School will conclude on June 27 with a day dedicated to innovation and scientific research. Participants will visit two centers of excellence in applied science and technology: the Eucentre Foundation and the Flow Lab (Flexible biOelectronics and Wearable devices lab).
