International Days are symbolic occasions for reflection and raising awareness on issues that affect society, science, and culture. The IUSS School for Advanced Studies Pavia participates in these events with targeted initiatives that, on each occasion, combine research, outreach, and engagement with the public.

In 2025, IUSS will mark two significant occasions with the following events:

• March 8 – International Women’s Day: The Laboratory of Neurolinguistics and Experimental Pragmatics will host an event for girls, introducing them to the world of science through stories of prominent women scientists and participation in a neuroscience experiment.
• May 16 – International Day of Light (UNESCO): The University will organize a roundtable discussion bringing together experts from different fields to explore the theme of light and its applications, spanning science, technology, and society.
