The IUSS School offered the Spring 2025 edition of Create – Protect – Innovate: Bringing Ideas to Market, a free course delivered within the Modular IP Education Framework (MIPEF), developed by the European Patent Office (EPO) in collaboration with leading intellectual property experts from across Europe.

This course is designed for PhD students who wished to strengthen their knowledge of intellectual property rights, innovation, and technology, with a particular focus on patent protection and the commercialisation. Students who successfully completed the course would be awarded an official EPO certificate.

The programme consisted of:

• Five self-paced modules featuring videos, podcasts, and interactive materials
• Case studies illustrating real-world challenges and solutions
• Three live sessions with IP experts (optional)
• A tutored discussion forum for peer exchange and guidance
• A final marked assignment assessed by IP professionals
