NEXT-GEN Spring School - Addressing climate change and natural disaster risk for next-generation communities, to be held from 28 to 30 April 2026 in Pavia, at the Sala del Camino (IUSS Pavia), Palazzo del Broletto (Piazza della Vittoria 15).

The NEXT-GEN Spring School is a multidisciplinary training initiative aimed at PhD students and researchers interested in understanding the growing impact of extreme events on structures, infrastructure and populations in the context of climate change.

The programme aims to provide participants with up-to-date scientific knowledge, practical skills for risk analysis and management, and valuable networking opportunities between academia, industry and politics.

The Spring School will explore the effects of extreme events (e.g. earthquakes, floods, droughts) with a focus on their implications for community resilience and sustainable development.

Discussions will address both structural and socio-economic mitigation and adaptation strategies, highlighting concrete examples and best practices and promoting dialogue between science, policy, industry and civil society.

Registration is now open and further details on the programme are available at the following link: https://forms.gle/WxH9wMcwhFXiye9B6

A total of 10 travel grants will be available for PhD students, including six grants of € 400 for participants from Italy and four grants of € 650 euros for participants from abroad.
