Paragrafo
Testo

ConSOLE (Conference of the Student Organization of Linguistics in Europe) is an annual conference created to provide a dedicated space for early-career scholars in theoretical linguistics. The event serves as an international platform primarily aimed at PhD candidates and advanced Master’s students, who are invited to present and discuss their research in an open and stimulating academic environment.

This year’s theme is movement, with a focus on how linguistic movement manifests itself in syntax, semantics, phonology, and morphology, as well as in related fields.

Invited speakers include Anna Maria Di Sciullo, Andrea Moro, Gillian Ramchand, Vieri Samek-Lodovici, and Marco Tettamanti. The conference will be preceded by a Neurolinguistics Workshop, organized in collaboration with PhD students from IMT Lucca.

ConSOLE has become a major reference point for researchers in theoretical linguistics, thanks to its ability to combine scientific rigor with peer-to-peer discussion, strengthening the European dimension of the linguistics community.

In this perspective, the initiative fully aligns with the spirit of collaboration and exchange promoted by the NetS Center (IUSS Pavia), which brings together the IUSS School for Advanced Studies, the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, and the network of universities involved in the Educating Future Citizens (EFC) project. This partnership supports advanced training and interdisciplinary research, offering academic development opportunities also through international contexts of scientific exchange.

Participating in ConSOLE means joining a dynamic European scientific community, where theoretical inquiry goes hand in hand with constructive peer feedback and dialogue with experienced academics and researchers.

The experience offers several opportunities, including:

  • presenting one’s research in a supportive environment,
  • receiving valuable feedback,
  • building new academic connections,
  • closely engaging with the most up-to-date research trends in theoretical linguistics.

A distinctive feature of the initiative is also the possibility of contributing to research dissemination through publication in the annual proceedings volume, which collects a selection of the papers presented at the conference.
