IUSS: New Guidance Modules for the 2026/2027 School Year

For the 2026/2027 school year, the IUSS School for Advanced Studies of Pavia is offering a new catalogue of Guidance Modules for upper secondary school students.

The modules provide students with an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into higher education and experience the scientific method, while consolidating their knowledge and developing transferable and reflective skills that can help them make informed choices about their future educational and professional paths.

The programmes support students in the transition from secondary school to university through active guidance experiences, participatory learning and hands-on activities, providing opportunities for direct interaction with IUSS faculty members and researchers.

The new catalogue includes modules covering a wide range of topics, from neuroscience to astrophysics, Earth observation and environmental monitoring, climate and climate change, as well as artificial intelligence, data science, philosophy of technology and computational linguistics.

Particular emphasis is placed on dialogue across disciplines, introducing students to an interdisciplinary approach to knowledge. The programmes also explore issues of particular relevance to the future, providing students with tools to understand the challenges facing contemporary society and to make more informed choices about their higher education.

The programmes are free of charge and can be tailored in collaboration with schools according to the needs of individual classes and the interests of students.
