As part of the Active Orientation - School-to-University Transition (Orientamento Attivo - Transizione Scuola-Università) initiatives, provided under Ministerial Decree 934/2022, the IUSS School for Advanced Studies participates in the Institutional Network dedicated to implementing projects under Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), Mission 4 “Education and Research” – Component 1 “Enhancing Education Services: From Early Childhood to University” – Investment 1.6 “Active Orientation in the School-to-University Transition”. This initiative is led by the University of Milan and includes University of Milano-Bicocca and University of Bergamo as partner institutions.

IUSS School offers high school students in their third, fourth, and fifth years courses focused on active orientation, supporting their transition from school to university. 

Objective of the courses:

• Understand the higher education system and its role in a knowledge-based society, exploring different academic opportunities for personal growth and the creation of a sustainable and inclusive society.
• Experience active, participatory, and hands-on disciplinary learning, guided by scientific method-based teaching approaches.
• Self-assess, verify, and strengthen existing knowledge to bridge the gap between current skills and those required for the chosen study path.
• Develop reflective and transversal skills essential for shaping one’s educational and professional development plan.
• Gain insights into job sectors, career opportunities, and future sustainable and inclusive professions, connecting them to acquired knowledge and competencies.

How to participate:

Schools can participate only by signing a specific agreement with the IUSS School for Advanced Studies (agreement template available below). Each student may enroll in only one 15-hour course, subject to prior submission of their tax identification number (codice fiscale).

Schools must:

1. Consult the PNRR course catalog offered by the IUSS School for Advanced Studies.
2. Contact the Orientation, Student Services & Placement Office: orientamento@iusspavia.it.
3. Identify the most suitable courses for their students.
4. Formalize the activation of courses by signing an agreement.
