IUSS at the 2025 Placement Exchange, XIX Forum: AI and New Strategies for Career Guidance
On May 27–28, 2025, IUSS took part in the 19th Forum of the Placement Exchange, held at Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona — a key national event fostering dialogue between universities and the world of work, promoted by the Emblema Foundation.
This year’s edition, titled "LavorerAI", focused on the relationship between artificial intelligence and employability, a pressing topic reshaping job markets, required skills, and the expectations of new generations. The plenary session on May 27 featured speakers from leading companies, financial institutions, and research and technology organizations, with the goal of debunking myths and addressing growing concerns among students and recent graduates about AI replacing traditional professions — through a rigorous, evidence-based approach.
Key contributions included talks by Nicola Gatti, Coordinator of Spoke 4 "Adaptive AI" at Fondazione FAIR, and Laura Lunghi, Head of PNRR Programs and National Value Programs at Intesa Sanpaolo. Both emphasized the pivotal role universities play in guiding change, through updated and targeted career orientation strategies.
On May 28, IUSS participated in one-to-one sessions with companies and recruiters, discussing emerging job profiles, hiring needs, and potential collaborations. These direct exchanges with national and international companies provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue, idea-sharing, and exploring future partnerships. It also served to strengthen IUSS’s presence within the national Placement Exchange network and reinforce its commitment to supporting students and graduates in their career paths.
IUSS’s participation in the Forum reflects its ongoing commitment to engaging in discussions at the intersection of higher education and the professional world, and to actively contributing to the development of a modern, inclusive, and forward-looking placement ecosystem.
