ERC Proof of Concept Award to Prof. Valentina Bambini (IUSS Pavia) to Create a Digital Tool Supporting Children’s Language Skills
Valentina Bambini, Full Professor of Linguistics and Director of the Neurolinguistics and
Experimental Pragmatics Laboratory at the IUSS University School in Pavia (NEPLab), has been
awarded a prestigious ERC Proof of Concept Grant by the European Research Council (ERC) under
the 2025 call. The funded project, entitled “Meta4Kids – An Evidence-Based Digital Toolkit to Enhance
Children’s Metaphor Skills and Strengthen Practitioner Expertise”, will develop an innovative
digital tool that integrates assessment, enhancement, and professional training to support children’s
language development.
On 14 November 2025, at the headquarters of the Accademia dei Lincei in Rome, Professor Andrea Moro received the insignia and the title of Corresponding Member during the opening ceremony of the 2025–2026 academic year.
A solemn moment that marks his appointment and acknowledges the excellence of his scientific contribution in the fields of linguistics and the neuroscience of language.
