The Technological Transfer activities of IUSS are realized in particular in the participation in the activities of the JottoFair and the JoTTO (Joint Technology Transfer Office - http://www.jointto.it/it), a project created to enhance the research results of the four Superior Graduate Schools (SNS, IMT, Sant'Anna, IUSS) in order to both make the knowledge and technologies of the four universities available to the business world, and to allow research operators to enhance their discoveries, favoring the creation of spin-offs, disseminating the results to companies and organizations, creating training and in-depth moments.

The creation of value for businesses, institutions and society is the mission of the universities engaged in scientific research and in the training of the future ruling class. Our commitment is mainly aimed at the issues of sustainability, climate change, the mind and brain, natural hazards, space, artificial intelligence, health and the well-being of man and the environment.

IUSS School's Enhancement and Knowledge Transfer activities are also carried out through participation in the activities of the Technology Transfer Office jointly with the other Special Education Graduate Schools.

JoTTO is the Joint Technology Transfer Office born on 1 October 2015, thanks to the signing of the activation decree of the three Superior Graduate Schools, IMT School of Higher Studies Lucca, Scuola Normale Superiore and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa, to enhance the research results of the three federated schools and to offer a common and transversal service to various scientific fields on the theme of research enhancement and the Third University Mission.

From 1 April 2017, IUSS Pavia University School has also joined the Federation of JoTTO and in 2020, the International School of Advanced Studies - SISSA, Trieste and the Gran Sasso Science Institute - GSSI, L’Aquila have also joined.

JoTTO makes the knowledge and technologies of the schools of excellence available to the business world and allows research operators to give value to their discoveries, favoring the creation of university spin-offs and start-ups, disseminating the results to companies and organizations, creating moments of development and study.

JoTTO Fair is the meeting event between the research activity of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Scuola Normale Superiore, Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca, IUSS University School and the business world.
