The University School for Advanced Studies IUSS has developed an intense internationalization process since its establishment. IUSS's attention to the international aspects is demonstrated by the constant commitment to involve students, professors and scholars from abroad in research and teaching projects and by the activities carried out in collaboration with foreign institutions. The promotion of student study periods at qualified foreign institutions and the growing involvement of foreign professors, researchers and students, particularly at postgraduate level, have been facilitated by the relationships of the professors and researchers of IUSS School with foreign universities and research institutions.

International collaborations have been intensified for high-level training and research purposes.

A fundamental aspect for the creation of an international higher education network is the mobility of students, teachers and researchers, understood as the free circulation of knowledge and resources. Programmatic documents drawn up by the IUSS's governance are dedicated to strategies and actions to develop IUSS internationalisation.
