The IUSS University School of Pavia has, among its institutional characteristics, that of attracting and training the most talented university students by pursuing an action to enhance merit at all levels, to develop new cultural and didactic models to adapt research to contemporary needs, guiding it towards the great challenges of humanity and the planet, to participate in the development of an avant-garde "culture of knowledge" through the activities of its research structures, favoring the inclusion of young people in the cultural, scientific and entrepreneurial fabric of a society which is confronted with the contemporary challenges of the society of globalization.

The mission of IUSS School is to contribute to the progress of society, both by training young people capable of consciously facing the complexity of development, and by building new knowledge to guide the progress of society. This mission is shared with many other universities and identifies the responsibility that IUSS School assumes towards the various players in our society.
