Biography

PhD Candidate in Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics.
PNRR Scholarship DM 629/2024 – Topic “Study of language and its impact on communication in science and medicine”

Alessia Tavars obtained a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Bologna with a thesis focused on the historical-linguistic evolution of ancient Germanic languages. She then continued her linguistic studies in Siena, as part of the Master's degree program "Language and Mind: Linguistics and Cognitive Studies."
In 2022, she carried out a five-month research period for her thesis at the UOC Neurological Clinic and Neurometabolic Diseases department at the Santa Maria alle Scotte Polyclinic. In the same year, she graduated with a thesis titled “The comprehension of syntactically complex structures in clinical populations: a study on Mild Cognitive Impairment.”
Since 2024, she has been conducting her doctoral research at the Neurolinguistics and Experimental Pragmatics Lab at the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori (IUSS) in Pavia.
