Biography
PhD candidate in Earthquake Engineering.
Amirhossein Nikpour is a PhD student in the Rose Program at IUSS Pavia, specializing in the seismic design of steel structures, with a focus on both structural and non-structural elements. His research integrates numerical and experimental approaches to seismic design and analysis across these areas.
Amirhossein obtained his second M.Sc. in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering from Federico II University of Naples in 2023, where he graduated with the highest honors (110 cum laude) as a 'Study in Naples' scholarship recipient, and his first M.Sc. in Hydraulic Structures Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology in 2016, along with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, where he ranked 2nd in both programs.
Amirhossein has around five years of design experience, during which he has worked as a structural designer on steel and concrete structures in high seismic risk zones. He has also contributed to projects at CERN, specifically in the seismic design and analysis of tanks and pressurized vessels. Additionally, he was selected as the winner of two "Borsa di Ricerca" scholarships. His academic and professional journey reflects his commitment to advancing resilience in structural and earthquake engineering.
