
Biography
PhD Candidate in Understanding and Managing Extremes.
Carlo graduated in Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc) at the University of L'Aquila in 2001, then worked in the metal structures industry. Since 2009 he is active in the assessment and communication of seismic risk on a local scale and in strategies and technologies for the integrated retrofit of existing buildings.
He lives in Abruzzo, where he has experienced the full spectrum of the effects related to 2009 and 2016-2017 seismic events.
To improve and develop his knowledge through a formal path at the highest international levels, in 2022 he enrolled to the PhD programme in Understanding and Managing Extremes (UME) - ROSE curriculum at the IUSS Pavia.
His current areas of study and research are the integrated evaluation of existing buildings and the retrofit through innovative "plug-in" devices.
