Biography

I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the University of Parma and a Master's degree in Medical Biotechnologies from the University of Padova. I have spent my Master's thesis internship at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-TIGET), in the laboratory of Professor Luigi Naldini, where I've learnt tricks and secrets of gene editing and hematopoietic stem cells gene therapy from veterans and pioneers in the field. After graduating cum laude I remained in the lab as a research fellow for a few months before beginning my doctoral journey with the IUSS STAT program, in which I'm currently enrolled. I'm excited to be part of this vibrant community and I look forward to all the challenges and opportunities this new adventure will bring!

I'm deeply passionate about gene editing, and very excited for the therapeutic possibilities it will open in the coming years. My current research focuses on developing novel gene editing technologies for the safe integration of large therapeutic cargoes into human cells, as well as exploring solutions for their targeted delivery in vivo to the hematopoietic stem cell compartment.
