Biography

PhD candidate in Cognitive Brain Sciences.

Giulia Arenare graduated in Psychological Sciences and Techniques at the University of Modena Reggio Emilia (Italy) in 2019 with a thesis entitled "Action Observation: A Novel Tool in Neurorehabilitation" under the supervisor Professor Martina Ardizzi. Subsequently, in 2022, she earned a master’s degree in Psychobiology and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Parma (Italy) with a thesis entitled "Association Between Biological Factors and Neuropsychiatric Symptoms in Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment" under the supervisor Professor Paolo Caffarra.  She participated in a postgraduate course at the Catholic University of Milan (Italy), specializing in Behavioral Neuroscience with a focus on prevention, neuroenhancement, and neurorehabilitation. She completed her internship at the IRCCS Mondino Foundation, where she participated in a research project focusing on patients with frontotemporal dementia and their caregivers. She subsequently based her postgraduate course thesis on this project. Furthermore, in 2023 she completed her post-graduate internship at the neurophysiology laboratory of the University of Parma where she had the opportunity to follow research projects related to mirror mechanisms and social contagion. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in Cognitive Brain Sciences at IUSS, Pavia (Italy). The focus of her research delves into the role of social relations in promoting healthy aging (supervisors: Professor Elena Cavallini and Professor Serena Lecce).
