Shafia Tufail did her masters in Biotechnology from Quaid-i-azam university, Islamabad which is the top-ranking university in Pakistan. During her masters, she joined the nanobiotechnology lab as research assistant and work on the dissertation entitled as; Synthesis and morphological & biological characterization of Campsis radicans and Cascabela thevetia petals derived silver nanoparticles.

She has expertise in nanoparticle formulations, microbial growth cultures, phytochemical analysis and Plant cell and tissue culture. During her bachelors, she also gained certifications in biosafety trainings.
