
Biography
Stefano F. Cappa, graduated in Medicine and specialized in Neurology at the University of Milan. He has spent periods of study and research at the University of Boston, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Medical Research Council Cyclotron Unit of Hammersmith Hospital in London, and the Max Planck Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience in Leipzig. Since 1999 full professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the University Vita-Salute S. Raffaele of Milan, and Director of the Unit of Neuroriabilitation of San Raffaele Turro, since 2013 professor of neurology at the IUSS of Pavia. From 2016 to 2019 Scientific Director of the IRCCS S. Giovanni di Dio Fatebenefratelli, Brescia, from 2019 affiliated to the Institute of Neurology, Mondino Foundation. Prof. Cappa's research activity is in the area of cognitive neurosciences, and concerns in particular the neurological bases of language, memory and social behaviour. He has published more than 350 papers in leading international neurological and neuropsychological journals, and several books, including recently "Cognitive Neurology" at Oxford University Press.
