Biography
PhD Candidate in Cognitive Brain Sciences.
Since my bachelor's degree in Scienze e Tecniche Psicologiche at Pavia, I have been fascinated by the clinical and experimental neuropsychology field. Particularly, I am deeply interested in the possibility to actively describe and understand the neural mechanisms underlying human behavior and cognitive functions. Especially, those components we engage with in daily life. These aspects were further explored during my master’s degree in psychology, Neuroscience & Human Science, at Pavia university, which deepened my interest in the subject. For example, during my experimental thesis project, I gained expertise in the collection and analysis of behavioral data related to the technique of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS).
For this reason, I believe that the CBS PhD program is a valuable opportunity to further specialize in the field of neuropsychology, as well as in the application of neurostimulation and neuroimaging techniques. Moreover, under the supervision of Professor CatricalĂ , I have the opportunity to explore a topic of significant personal interest: semantic memory. Specifically, I aim to investigate how we represent, at neuronal level, the concepts we have acquired throughout our lives and how we utilize them in our daily activities, in addition to examining how these representations may be compromised in neurodegenerative patients.
