PEOPLE OF THE BOOK, PEOPLE OF BOOKS:
Jewish identity is based on the text, and on its infinite multiplication.

As George Steiner said:
"the Jew and he who reads with a pencil in his hand".
He is echoed by a great writer from Basilicata, Rocco Scotellaro - the "ideal" son of Carlo Levi: "We want to believe in the infinite multiplicity of the word in the infinite variety of the world, as seen by creatures who know how to love it and try to understand it".
