The Linguistic & Philosophy IUSS Center continues the Reading Group 2024/2025 – Philosophy of Mind with a new session scheduled for March 10, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, held online.

The meeting will focus on the reading and discussion of Panpsychism and Panprotopsychism by David Chalmers, a key contribution to the contemporary debate on the nature of consciousness. In this paper, Chalmers examines panpsychist and panprotopsychist theories, which attempt to address the problem of consciousness by attributing mental or proto-mental properties to physical reality. Through a rigorous analysis, the philosopher explores the strengths and challenges of these perspectives, raising fundamental questions about the ontological foundations of conscious experience.

As with previous sessions, the Reading Group provides an opportunity for students, researchers, and scholars interested in philosophy of mind to engage in in-depth discussions and debates on crucial topics in contemporary philosophical discourse.
