Can you observe the starry sky from a closed room in the center of Pavia? Yes, if the weather conditions are favorable and you can remotely control a telescope can transmit in real time the images collected. This will happen during the Star Party that will close the Researchers' Night on Saturday, September 28 at 21 at the Sala del Camino of the IUSS University School of Pavia.
A journey in the company of Andrea Tiengo, Associate Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at IUSS and Paolo Esposito, Senior Researcher in Astronomy and Astrophysics at IUSS School and Astrophiles of ADARA, that will guide us in the exploration of the sky with the shots transmitted live from the robotic domes of the Astrobrallo Astronomical Park and with the images collected by space telescopes. of the IUSS School.
The images will be collected live by amateur astronomers of the association ADARA (Association for the Dissemination of Astronomy and Amateur Research), through their remote-controlled telescopes located in the Astrobrallo Astronomical Park. The process of collecting and preparing the images will be explained by Fabio Tagliani, who will also show some of the most spectacular astronomical photographs produced by the Association.
The astrophysicists of the IUSS school will then show how these same astronomical objects look when observed by the most powerful telescopes currently available, on earth and in space. Everyone will be invited to observe these same images on their smartphones and, under the guidance of researchers, to try to interpret the surprising differences that emerge when exploring an object far away using X-ray sensitive telescopes, infrared or ultraviolet.
Free admission subject to availability.
