Among the leading figures of BookCity Milano – Also in Pavia 2025 is Andrea Moro, Fellow of the Accademia dei Lincei, linguist and neuroscientist at the Scuola Universitaria Superiore IUSS of Pavia and the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, internationally recognized for his research on language and the mind.
Moro will be the focus of the event “Speaking, Staying Silent, Posting”, scheduled for Saturday 15 November at 11:30 a.m. at the Ridotto of the Teatro Fraschini.
In conversation with Chiara Valerio and Alessandra Tedesco, he will explore language, communication, and the power of words in the age of social networks and artificial intelligence, showing how language remains one of the most powerful tools of thought and freedom.
“Words do not merely describe the world — they create it,” says Moro. “Understanding how language works means understanding who we are and how we can still think freely.”
Andrea Moro’s participation confirms the role of the IUSS School of Pavia as a place of advanced research and interdisciplinary dialogue, capable of bringing to the public debate topics that bridge science, language, and society.
All events are free to attend, with registration required at www.bookcitymilano.it
