IUSS Pavia at the Festa del Ticino 2025

The Scuola Universitaria Superiore IUSS Pavia will take part in the Festa del Ticino with the initiative:
“The Words of Water: between Language, Neuroscience and Sustainability”
organized by the Laboratory of Neurolinguistics and Experimental Pragmatics.
A didactic and interactive journey inviting adults and children to discover water as a vital, cultural and linguistic resource. Through posters, language workshops, games and interactive activities, participants will reflect on how we talk about water, the metaphors we use, and how our brain understands creative language.
🌍 From the historical importance of the Ticino River to today’s sustainability challenges, the workshop will guide visitors on a journey through words, the brain, and the environment.
đź“Ś Special activities include:
- #FindTheMetaphor: a citizen science campaign to collect metaphors and sayings about water (and more).
- #GuessTheMetaphor: an interactive game to discover the meaning of metaphors.
- “Drops of Neurolinguistics”: short scientific insights.
- The chance to take part voluntarily in an EEG experiment linked to the MetaMar project.
