A group from the ROSE Centre at IUSS Pavia attended the 4th International Conference on Natural Hazards & Infrastructure (ICONHIC 2026), held in Chania, Greece, contributing four presentations across topics in seismic risk, ground motion characterisation, and research impact.

Prof. Gerard J. O'Reilly presented findings related to the broader scientific and societal reach of ERIES, the Horizon Europe project coordinated by IUSS Pavia, examining how large-scale European research programmes can align with EU impact objectives and ensure results translate into tangible change beyond publications.

Dott. Davit Shahnazaryan presented work on the practical conversion of fragility functions to alternative and non-spectral intensity measures, developed as part of the SONATA FIS2 Starting Grant project.

PhD students Vitor and Tomás presented work from their doctoral research: Vitor on modelling cross-spatial correlation for a range of ground motion intensity measures including Sa(T), PGA, PGV, Saavg(T), and FIV3 in active shallow crustal zones, and Tomás on accounting for structural response correlation in EDP-based scenario seismic risk assessment.
