Federico Frau wins the 2025 “Aldo Fasolo” Prize for communication in neuroscience

The 2025 “Aldo Fasolo” Prize for Communication in Neuroscience, promoted by the PhD Program in Neuroscience of the University of Turin in collaboration with the InToBrain Association, has been awarded to Federico Frau, Researcher in Linguistics at the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia. The prize was granted for the video “Beyond Images”, which describes the linguistic and communicative difficulties experienced by individuals with psychiatric disorders.

The “Aldo Fasolo” Prize is an important recognition aimed at early-career researchers working in the field of neuroscience. It acknowledges not only scientific excellence, but also the ability to effectively communicate and disseminate research findings to a broad, non-specialist audience. The jury, composed of experts in science communication, recognized the work for its originality and its ability to present complex topics in a clear and engaging manner.

The awarding ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., as part of the CinemAmbiente Festival, in the prestigious setting of the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin.

On this occasion, Federico Frau will give a public talk entitled “Memories of thorns and grass of velvet: the neurobiology of metaphor as a window onto communication disorders”.
