Award Ceremony of the Women in STEM 2025 Call

An afternoon dedicated to celebrating female talent in science and technology: on Monday, October 21, the Assolombarda headquarters in Milan will host the award ceremony of the Women in STEM 2025 Call, an initiative aimed at promoting excellence and encouraging women’s participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The event will open at 3:30 p.m. with institutional greetings from Alessandro Picardi, Vice President of Assolombarda for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics and Cultural Events, and Sen. Alessandra Gallone, Advisor to the Minister for Innovation and Sustainability Policies in Higher Education and Research (MUR).
At 3:50 p.m., a roundtable discussion on “Female Talent and Innovation” will follow, featuring representatives from partner organizations and the business sector:

- Aldo Forte, Head of People & Organization, Enel Italia S.p.A.
- Mario Moioli, Head of External Relations, Fondimpresa
- Silvia Toffolutti, Global D&I and Wellbeing Lead, Chiesi Group
At 5:00 p.m., Raffaella Di Micco, researcher at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy in Milan and Associate Professor at the Scuola Universitaria Superiore IUSS Pavia, and recipient of a prestigious ERC Grant, will share her experience as a concrete example of women’s excellence in scientific research.
Concluding remarks will be delivered by Francesco De Santis, Vice President for Research and Development at Confindustria, and Diana Bracco, President of the Fondazione Giuseppina Mai, promoter of the initiative.
The ceremony will close with the ribbon cutting and opening of the exhibition “MIND THE STEM GAP – TOGETHER: A Manifesto Exhibition to Overcome Gender Stereotypes”, curated by the Bracco Foundation, followed by a networking aperitif.
