The LAST CALL is now open to apply for the Winter School “Digital Rights: Theory and Practice”, taking place from January 26 to 30, 2026 at Venice International University.
A one-week program dedicated to digital rights and to the challenges that technological innovation poses to law, democracy, and contemporary society. The School adopts an interdisciplinary approach, combining legal philosophy, human rights, AI ethics, political and social sciences, with the goal of exploring the complex relationship between technology and freedom in the digital age.
Among the Scientific Coordinators is Amedeo Santosuosso, Professor at the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia, a leading scholar in the field of Law and Digital Technologies.
His participation reflects IUSS Pavia’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary reflection on artificial intelligence, data governance, and the protection of fundamental rights.
The Scientific Committee also includes Costanza Margiotta (University of Padua), Xenia Chiaramonte (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice), and Lorenzo Passerini Glazel (University of Milano-Bicocca).
The Winter School will address key topics such as:
- emerging rights in the use of data and digital services;
- ethical and legal implications of artificial intelligence;
- transformation of labor and digital citizenship;
- platform governance and data security;
- the relationship between technology, freedom, and democracy.
Designed for Master’s and PhD students in Law, Philosophy, Political and Social Sciences, the School combines theoretical insight and practical experience through lectures, labs, and workshops led by international experts.
