Description: The project focuses on the development of an integrated system for in vitro cellular applications, consisting of an array of sensors based on organic transistors (specifically an ultrasensitive and versatile organic sensor known as the Organic Charge Modulated FET – OCMFET) and the corresponding multichannel readout electronics. In particular, the project aims to provide a tool capable of detecting some of the most important parameters in the cellular domain: electrical activity, metabolic activity (through integrated pH sensors), calcium ion activity, dopamine (an important neurotransmitter), and hormones such as cortisol. The system proposed in this project would fill a technological gap, as it would enable the simultaneous detection of these parameters, which are currently measurable only with ad hoc equipment that is not easily integrable.
