Second Edition of the #DEIUSS Artistic Award

The IUSS School for Advanced Studies invites you to take part in the Second Edition of the #DEIUSS Artistic Award, an initiative that celebrates art as a catalyst for social change and the promotion of inclusion.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking original artistic works exploring one or more of the following themes:

• Diversity and inclusion in academic and workplace environments
• Preventing and combating discrimination and violence
• Gender equality and respect for human rights
• Promoting diversity in all its forms

Accepted formats

Submissions may be presented in one of the following formats:

• Visual arts: drawings, paintings and photographs
• Audiovisual works: video clips, short videos and short films
• Literary works: poems and short stories

Evaluation criteria

Entries will be assessed by the Selection Committee on the basis of:

• Artistic quality
• Originality and creativity
• Relevance to, and impact on, the themes of the competition

Who can apply?

Competition Section (Prize Eligible)

• IUSS undergraduate students in good academic standing
• IUSS PhD candidates in good academic standing

Non-Competitive Section

• Alumni and former PhD candidates belonging to the AlumnIUSS community

The Prize

The winner will receive a budget of €1,500 to support their academic and professional development. The funds may be used for:

• Travel expenses for conferences, summer schools and similar academic events
• Registration fees for conferences, training courses and educational events
• Scientific publications and research materials
• Any other education- or research-related expenses contributing to the recipient's professional development

Applications must be submitted to the Committee for Equal Opportunities (CUG) of the IUSS School for Advanced Studies by email to cug@iusspavia.it or via the Google Form (see the link below).

Applications must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. (CEST) on 30 September 2026.
