Biography

PhD candidate in Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics.

Elena Didoni obtained her bachelor’s degree in Humanities from the University of Pavia in 2021. She discussed a thesis in Sociolinguistics regarding a corpus tool created to study Italian linguistic variation on WhatsApp.
In April 2024 she obtained her master’s degree in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics with a thesis in Forensic linguistics about the multimodal and prosodic characteristics of denials expressed by femicide suspects in forensic contexts.
Alongside her master’s program, she was also enrolled at the University School of Advanced Studies (IUSS) in Pavia. She graduated in May 2024 with a thesis on the role of figurative language in persuasive skills development in early childhood (supervisor: Prof. Valentina Bambini).
Between May and August 2024, she did a research traineeship at the Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL). She worked as a research assistant on various projects related to language development in bilingual children.
