Biography
PhD candidate in Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (L-13) from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2022. During this period, I completed an internship at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Arcispedale Santa Maria Nuova, where I worked on an experimental thesis titled "Urinary Tract Infections: Diagnostic Methodology and Main Causative Agents."
In 2024, I obtained my Master's degree in "Biomolecular, Genomic, and Cellular Sciences" from the University of Parma, where I conducted a research internship in the Biochemistry and Bioinformatics Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Riccardo Percudani. My thesis project, titled "Bioinformatic Identification and Experimental Validation of Missing Genes in Human Metabolic Pathways," aimed to address a pathway gap within the Glucuronate pathway, focusing on an unknown decarboxylase enzyme yet to be characterized.
Currently, I am a PhD student in the Laboratory of Biocrystallography at the Department of Biology and Biotechnology, University of Pavia, under the supervision of Prof. Andrea Mattevi. My research project focuses on studying the genes involved in the catabolism of Tryptophan in human cells, with the goal of assessing the mechanisms of enzyme association and dissociation in response to different cellular stimuli.
