PhD candidate in Earthquake Engineering.

Furkan Narlitepe received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Faculty from the Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), Turkey, in 2018. Then he has completed Master of Science degree at Earthquake Engineering Department at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). The master thesis topic is on proposing an innovative strengthening method for the sub-standard reinforced concrete columns subjected to high axial loading.

He had been the research assistant at the School of Engineering and Natural Science at Altinbas University, Turkey between August 2020-June 2023. He is currently continuing his studies as a PhD candidate at IUSS Pavia. His current research areas include reinforced concrete structures, seismic strengthening, performance evaluation and seismic risk assessment.

Mr. Narlitepe is a student member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the International Federation for Structural Concrete (FIB), and Society for Earthquake and Civil Engineering Dynamics (SECED).
