Biography
PhD candidate in Earthquake Engineering.
Tomas graduated with public mention in civil engineering from EIA University in Medellín, Colombia, in 2019. He then worked over three years as a structural engineer, contributing to the design of reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel buildings, as well as concrete tanks. In 2024, he completed the ROSE curriculum (Reduction of Seismic Risk) within the joint master’s program in civil engineering for risk mitigation from natural hazards, offered by the University of Pavia and IUSS Pavia, graduating cum laude. His master’s thesis, titled "On the Impacts of Structure-to-Structure Damage Correlation for Regional Seismic Risk Assessment," examined key factors in regional seismic vulnerability. Tomas began his PhD in Earthquake Engineering (ROSE) at IUSS in 2024.
