Those who hold stay permit’s renewal postal receipt can leave and enter Italy, provided that:

• they have original passport, stay permit’s renewal postal receipt and original of expiring/expired residence permit;
• travel does not include transit among Schengen Countries.

Even in this case, for travelling among Schengen Area and other countries, it is strongly recommended to verify if it is necessary getting an entry visa according to the citizenship and current domicile.
