Course Overview
Applications are now open for the English-language course "Knowledge Valorization and Technology Transfer to Create Impact on Society," organized as part of the EFC – Educating Future Citizens project in collaboration with Netval – Network for Research Valorization.
The course is designed for PhD candidates from all disciplinary areas, both STEM and SSH (Social Sciences and Humanities), and aims to provide fundamental skills in knowledge valorization, intellectual property, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship through a practical, multidisciplinary approach.
Learning Objectives
The course enables participants to:
- Understand how to protect and valorize their research results
- Explore opportunities for market collaboration, licensing, and start-up creation
- Develop an innovation-oriented mindset
- Develop and present a preliminary business case based on their doctoral research
Course Structure
The program consists of two activities:
Activity 1 – February 26-27, 2026 | IMT School
Four modules covering Intellectual Property, Knowledge Valorization, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship, with attention to both STEM and SSH contexts.
Activity 2 – March 19-20, 2026 | IMT School
Interactive workshop focused on developing and refining a business case, with teamwork and instructor support.
Target Audience
This initiative, promoted under the EFC project, is also open to PhD candidates from other EFC Schools and, subject to availability, to participants outside the EFC network. Participation in both activities is recommended; requests to attend only one activity will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Certification
The recognition process for Activity 1 by the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals is currently underway. If approved, participants will be awarded Continuing Education Points, valid toward the international Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) certification.
