Description: The research project led by Dr. Mastroserio focuses on the study of accretion processes in compact objects across a wide mass range, from white dwarfs and neutron stars to stellar mass and supermassive black holes. Accretion is a fundamental mechanism in high-energy astrophysics, powering some of the most energetic phenomena in the Universe and providing insights into the physical conditions in extreme environments, as well as the evolution of diverse astrophysical systems.
