PhD candidate in Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology.
Alessia Giglio graduated from University of Pavia (Italy) as master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies in 2022. Her thesis work was performed in in the Pharmaceutical Technologies and Law laboratory of the department of Drug Sciences, where she wrote a thesis entitled “Targeting the tumor and its microenvironment: MET targeting polymeric nanoparticles for the delivery of Verteporfin”. During her thesis work she was involved in the development of a poster entitled "Engineered PLGA nanoparticles targeting the MET receptor for intracellular delivery of Verteporfin" presented at the 61st edition of the AFI Symposium. Based on the topics contained in her thesis, another poster was iussued and then presented at the Workshop organized by the CRS (Controlled Release Society) based on the theme “Unmet Medical Needs: Opportunities and Challenges for Drug Delivery Scientists”.
